ITEM SUMMARY:

Appoint two (2) members to the Griffin-Spalding Land Bank Authority for four-year terms.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

One appointment is a City citizen appointment currently held by Patty Beckham, and that term expired 12/31/16.  One appointment is for a School System representative, currently held by Superintendent Jim Smith, and that appointment expired 12/31/16, as well.  Jim Smith desires to continue if approved. Under the current system, the School System representative is rotated between the City and County but is not an extra appointment; rather, whichever board appoints the School System choice only gets one other appointment for that term cycle. These appointments are for four-year terms, and this Authority meets on the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Lewis Mills House on North Hill Street.
