Consider approval of a design-build contract with Mallory & Evans Service Company for the design, engineering and construction of a replacement of the existing HVAC system in One Griffin Center. Director of Central Services Phill Francis will address.

Bid was approved and awarded by Commission on September 13, 2016. The new system is to be a variable refrigerant floe (VRF) zoned system, capable of providing zone level VRF system control while maintaining proper levels of ventilation and improving operational efficiency. The Design-Build Contractor will allow full occupancy of the building, except for limited work areas where installation is in progress. Substantial completion should occur in approximately 141 days from the date of giving the Notice to Proceed.

Staff recommends approval.

Guaranteed maximum price of this contract is $1,999,900.00. Budgeted amount $2,000,000.00
