Consider denial of a claim by Bob Gilreath, given by email directed to Kenny Smith, City Manager, dated October 30, 2016, in which Mr. Gilreath states it is his intent to file a lawsuit against the City and the Salvation Army. City Attorney Drew Whalen will address.

The email fails to specify whether it is intended to be ante litem notice of a claim for money damages, pursuant to OCGA 36-33-5 or provide any "date of occurrence" from which a claim for damages arises.
Approve denial of the claim.
The City is a Member of the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency (GIRMA) which adjusts and defends liability claims for the its members. The City has a $25,000 deductible per claim. This claim has been turned over to GIRMA for adjustment. |
