AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY
Consider approval for purchase of one 265XP-30-F, Self Contained Compactor for use at Toppan USA Inc. from Wastequip Inc., the NJPA (National Joint Powers Alliance) and State of Georgia approved vendor, for the total price of $19,772.20 and amend the Commercial Division of Solid Waste Dept. FY-17 operating budget accordingly. Central Services Director Phill Francis will address.

Upon completion of a waste composition study performed jointly by Toppan USA Inc. and the City of Griffin Solid Waste Dept., it was discovered that an additional 62% of the current waste stream generated could be recycled/diverted. To achieve this additional diversion, the use of a compactor would be required. Attached is an executed collection service agreement detailing the terms of the installation of a compactor and associated fees to be paid by Toppan USA Inc., thus bringing the Griffin plant into compliance with Toppan Corporate recycling initiatives.
