Consider approval of an Annual Authorization Agreement naming MEAG Power as the City's agent to nominate and acquire any combination of resources to optimize the City's Supplemental Power Supply requirements. Dan Thompson, Electric Director, will address.

This is an annual designation that the City of Griffin makes. MEAG Power has the technical expertise, trained personal and economy of scale to make the most advantageous power sales and purchases on behalf of the City of Griffin.

Staff recommends approval.

Combining the City's needs and resources with those of other MEAG participants, MEAG Power is better able to leverage sales and purchases in the market than the City would be able to negotiate on its own, therefore, helping to keep our wholesale power costs as low as possible.
