Consider on second and final reading an ordinance requesting the deannexation of approximately 30 +/- acres located along Williamson Road just west of South Pine Hill Road to include property known as tax parcel numbers 054 Block 01 Lot 001 submitted by Bankston Properties LLC. Toussaint Kirk, Director of Planning & Development Services, will address.

In order to qualify for USDA Grant Funding, the property needs to be considered rural to meet the grant qualification restrictions. The city exceeds the qualification restrictions set forth in the grant; therefore, to make the project viable, deannexation into the county is necessary. A Public Hearing and First Reading were held during the February 24, 2015 City Commission Regular Meeting.
Staff recommends approval of this request.
The deannexation of this property will decrease the City’s ad valorem tax base, but will remain a utility customer for water, wastewater, electric, stormwater and solid waste services. |
