ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider approval of the purchase of one set of TNT Extrication Tools (Jaws of Life) in the amount of $22,872.00 from Ten-8, and amend the budget accordingly. Fire Chief Tommy Jones will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

Use of one brand is required for interchangeability at major wrecks and rescue scenes. Ten-8 is sole-source provider of TNT extrication tools in Florida and Georgia.  TNT tools meet our standardization requirements to interchange with our current TNT inventory.  This is an additional set.  Old set to remain in inventory for parts and training purposes.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The resolution and budget amendment reallocates $22,872.00 from Tools & Small Equipment to Capital Outlay - Equipment.
