To consider an ordinance amending the Unified Development Code of Griffin at Article 7, Zoning Districts, Table 7.3 (Permitted Uses), to allow for manufacturing of alcoholic beverages as a Special Use permitted in the Central Business District (CBD). Toussaint Kirk to address.

This amendment is to include manufacturing in the Central Business District in Table 7.3. Permitted Use Table by Zoning Category and Development in the Unified Development Code (UDC). 

Prior to the adoption of the UDC, in April 2012, the Board of Commissioners approved a text amendment allowing the manufacturing of alcoholic beverages in the Central Business District as a special use on February 9, 2010. The ordinance was adopted and made part of the Code of Ordinances, but such use is not shown in the current permitted use table. To minimize conflict and confusion, staff recommends amending this provision to reflect the approved special use designation in the UDC’s permitted use table.
