When CAA began reviewing plans on our behalf they required a structural review, which questioned structural calculations of an architect or engineer, thus causing a delay in plan approval. After discussion, they have agreed to our request not to require a structural review if the plans are stamped by a registered architect or engineer, however, they will not assume any liability for the integrity of the structural calculations of the plans. The liability will be the responsibility of the architect or engineer of record.
This has been outlined in an amendment to the original contract in Section "K"
No other changes have been made to the original contract.
City attorney has approved amendment and staff recommends approval.
