Item Coversheet

AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY

ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the purchase and installation of a Bandalog Litter Trap from Storm Water Systems, Inc. for the Shoal Creek Regional Detention and Mitigation Pond in the amount of $110,615.00 for the Stormwater Department.   Director of Public Works & Utilities Dr. Brant D. Keller will address.  Approved

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This device is part of a two phase project to address pollutant removal of floatables in Shoal Creek. Phase I captures debris from entering the Shoal Creek Detention and Mitigation Pond in the upper reach of Shoal Creek. The device is being measured to address the Phase II  issue down stream at Rushton Mills owned by Woody Heath. The Rushton Mill location has been inundated by debris and has been a project on the mitigation list for sometime. Hopefully this project once completed at the Upper Shoal Creek location will mitigate 80% of the issue being collected on the property. This is a sole source item.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

This project is part of the CWSRF 14-001 GEFA Loan. $27,862.77 will be funded by the loan and the balance will come from the Stormwater Reserve Fund in the amount of $82,752.23. The total amount of unit and installation is $110,615.00
