Consider approval of an Authorization Agreement naming MEAG Power as the City's agent to nominate and acquire any combination of resources to optimize the City's Supplemental Power Supply Requirements. Director of Electric Bill Bosch will address. Approved

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This is an annual designation that the City makes. MEAG Power has the technical expertise, trained personnel and the economy of scale to make the most advantageous power supply sales and purchases on behalf of the City.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Combining the City’s needs and resources with those of the other participants, MEAG Power is better able to leverage sales and purchase in the market than the City would be able to on its own, thereby helping to keep our wholesale power costs as low as possible.
