Item Coversheet

AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY

ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider a Resolution, Letter of Support and approval of the Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Division application for the Georgia Heritage Grant Program.  Planning and Development Director Taurus Freeman will address.   Approved

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

The grant application is a 60% federal / 40% non-federal fund match. The Planning and Development Services Department has allocated funding through its budget to provide the 40% match. The project is to assist mitigation of the water damage to the "old" City Hall. The roof is leaking and allows water into the structure each time it rains. If awarded the grant, the funds will help provide a transitional measure to protect the structure from further water damage.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The grant is a 60/40 match. The grant amount requested is $9,996, and the City portion will be $6,664. This is a budgeted item.
