ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the approval of the bid and construction contract for Lift Station #8 Upgrade to RDJE, Inc. in the amount of $402,763.50 for the Water and Wastewater Department of the Public Works and Utilities Department.  Public Works and Utilities Department Director Dr. Brant D. Keller will address.  Approved.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This project is for the 1888 Mills Expansion to the old NACOM building.  The City's portion of the construction is $287,898.50 and 1888 Mills will pay $114,865.00 for their construction totaling $402,763.50.  The City, along with the Griffin-Spalding County Industrial Development Authority, has submitted to Georgia Department of Community Affairs for an EIP Grant of $500,000.00 to fund this project.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Funds to come from Capital Cost Recovery Fee and when grant is awarded, the funds will be reimbursed for expenses.  Amount of this bid is $402,763.50.
