ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider approval of Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance & Improvements Grant (LMIG) application for fiscal year 2014 for the Public Works and Utilities Department. Public Works and Utilities Department Director Dr. Brant D. Keller will address. Approved.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

City of Griffin will match 30% of resurfacing and milling of streets. GDOT to provide allotted designation. Typically, City of Griffin is allotted for this program of $250,000.00 total including our match. One mile of resurfacing is about $80,000.00 without milling and with milling around $160,000.00.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

30% match to come from 2008 SPLOST.
