Consider approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Griffin and Spalding County for information technology services including fiber optic communications and server services. Chief Information Officer Jack Poland will address.

The City of Griffin will install fiber optic cabling to numerous Spalding County facilities, to include the 911Center, in support of the new OSSI Computer Aided Dispatch system that will be fielded in the City’s server room located at 100 South Hill Street. The County will provide OSSI emergency communications dispatch software compatible with Griffin P.D. records management software and mobile data technology.
Staff recommends approval.
Total cost for fiber installation is approximately $104,000 budgeted in FY 16 (carryover) and FY 17. Income from this contract totals $705 per month. The OSSI dispatch software will make the GPD software completely compatible and totally useful rather than having to purchase new GPD software. |
