ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider adopting Policies and Procedures for interments and erection of monuments in City-owned and maintained cemeteries. This Resolution is pursuant to newly-revised Sec. 30-33 of the Code of Griffin. Director of Utilities and Public Works Brant D. Keller, PhD., will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This is part of a comprehensive update of the City regulations on burials within the City and provision of regulations specific to the cemeteries owned and maintained by the City.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Effective July 1, 2016, new fees and rates will go into effect as the City moves to a private contractor to open graves in City Cemeteries.
