Consider approval for Atlantic Fiber Networks (AFN) Agreement for lease of Fiber Optic Cable between the City of Griffin  and AFN.  Chief Technology Officer Jack Poland will address.

Atlantic Fiber Networks is a Georgia-based, dark fiber provider with a primary focus on public education.  AFN has a contract with Education Networks of America to provide dark fiber to all Griffin-Spalding County Schools that consists of 34 miles of outside plant and 21 campus entries/installations.  Under this proposal, AFN would utilize approximately 46 Fibers over 16 miles of plant from the City of Griffin. 

Staff recommends approval.

This agreement will bring additional revenue to the City of Griffin maximizing the City's excess dark fiber at an annual cost of approximately 70K.
