| SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS: |
The Griffin-Spalding Business & Tourism Authority (GSBTA) Intergovernmental Agreement will create a joint authority with Spalding County to act as a DMO that will provide tourism opportunities for Griffin and Spalding County. The activities of the authority will be funded via hotel-motel dollars. GSBTA will be responsible for the following:
- To promote business, tourism, trade conventions for the City of Griffin and Spalding County.
- To study, investigate, and develop plans for improving business and tourism in the City and County and to implement such plans in order to attract businesses, visitors, and conventions to the Griffin/Spalding Community.
- To advise and recommend plans to the Board of Directors for the development of business and tourism.
- To otherwise promote public interest in the general improvement of business and tourism in the City and County.
