On December 4, 2015, Cpt. Chris Wilson and Ptl. James Waddell answered the call of a woman on the Ellis Street bridge threatening to jump. Cpl. Wilson arrived on scene, calmed the woman and, when the time presented itself, grabbed her and brought her to safety off the railing. Ptl. Waddell assisted in securing the woman and the scene.These officers' quick responses and their compassion shown in the situation saved this woman's life. We would like to recognize and honor them by presenting the Life Saving Award to Cpl. Chris Wilson and the Meritorious Award to Ptl. James Waddell.
