ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider approval of a work contract and lowest bid to Georgia Asphalt Inc. for the milling and resurfacing of the LMIG 2015 project in the amount of $261,081.00 for the Public Works and Utilities Department. Director of Public Works and Utilities Brant D. Keller will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

Work is to be performed on North 8th Street, South 8th Street, Milner Avenue and Graefe Street. The City is required to match LMIG with a 30% match. The bid came in low and a negotiated bid for an additional $89,342.80 brought the match in line with GDOT LMIG requirements. 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

GDOT LMIG portion is $195,431.77 and the City of Griffin's match is $65,649.23. Griffin's portion is budgeted in FY2015-2016 CP2016-4220-4-1 in the amount of $80,000.00.
