The selection of Four Seasons was based on using this vendor for recent similar projects at our sub 1 and sub 4 locations. This is a continuation of the same work to our future largest substation. We have also used Netplanner for other fiber projects in the City but, with the specialized nature of this work, we felt it important to continue with an experienced, proven vendor with a successful track record for other similar projects.
Staff recommends approval.
This $27,000 upgrade to the fiber path will also provide bandwidth to new industrial customers, resulting in improved functionality while providing the possibility of new data revenue from future industrial customers, and enhanced communication to substation 8. |
