Consider approval of a Resolution and Budget Amendment to amend the City of Griffin Fiscal Year 2016 Operating and Capital budget in the amount of $4,870.00  in the Electric Utility Fund for the purchase of a portable meter testing system; and approve the transfer of cash in the amount of $4,870.00 to Electric Operating Cash account from Scrap Metal Sales Cash account.  Electric Utility Director Bill Bosch will address.

The amendments are part of the City's ongoing financial management program policies and budgetary compliance requirements.  A portable meter test system will allow for field testing of electric meters.  Field testing eliminates the need to bring the meters from their installation sites to the meter shop.  Expedience and efficiency will improve public perception and credibility of the test procedure while reducing operating costs.

Staff recommends approval.

The resolution and budget amendment appropriates $4,870 toward Tools and Small Equipment in the Technical Services Department.
