ITEM SUMMARY:

Appoint a City Law Enforcement Representative to the Spalding County Collaborative for Families and Children to fill the vacancy created by Lt. Morris Pike's retirement. The unexpired term of Lt. Pike is set to expire December 31, 2015. City Manager Kenny Smith will address.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This is one of two annual appointments to the Spalding Collaborative by the City. Lt. Pike retired from the City in August, leaving this board position vacant.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

It is the recommendation of Staff and Police Chief Heaton to appoint Lt. Mike Richardson to fill this vacancy. Lt. Richardson has displayed a willingness to serve in this capacity, and his skill set will certainly make him a valued board member.
