ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider approval, on second reading, of an Ordinance amending the Unified Development Code of the City of Griffin, GA at Article 12, SIGNS, by repealing the current ordinance and adopting a comprehensive revision of sign regulations in lieu thereof. City Attorney Drew Whalen will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This ordinance amendment is proposed to comply with the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in REED v. TOWN OF GILBERT, AZ. A briefing was conducted at the Workshop held September 22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. First reading was held on the October 13, 2015 Regular Scheduled Meeting.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Approval is recommended.
