Consider Agreement to Purchase Real Estate at 620 North Sixth Street in the amount of $1,000.00 for right of way for Intersection #1 Improvement Project of the 2008 SPLOST for the Public Works and Utilities Department. Director of Public Works and Utilities Director Brant D. Keller will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This is parcel 8 of the #1 intersection improvement projects owned by Annette Touchstone. On June 23, 2015 the commission approved the initial offer of $360.00 plus latitude to negotiate 10%. The counter offer by Touchstone was $7,500.00. The final negotiated offer was $1,000.00. The final offer is considerably less than condemnation procedure process. 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Budgeted in 2008 SPLOST. Amount to be paid is $1,000.00.
