AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY

Consider approval to award the purchase of one Caterpillar CT660S construction truck with 15.5' dump body in the amount of  $146,313.00 from Yancey Bros., off the NJPA contract 060311-CAT.  Vehicle will be a new addition and be assigned to General Fund - Public Works - Streets Department.  Director of Central Services Phill Francis will address.

Vehicle purchases are scheduled as part of the City's Fleet Services lifecycle management program. This unit purchase was originally scheduled for last years' budget but was postponed due to a discrepancy in pricing at budget time. Tandem dump truck will be used for hauling demolished properties (a City-wide initiative with increasing emphasis). This will save time and help the City's efforts to be more efficient in this operation.

Staff recommends approval.

Fiscal year 2015-2016 Operating and Capital Budget includes $53,000 in appropriations for a Tandem Construction Dump Truck.  An additional $97,000 will be rolled from FY15 to FY16, thereby setting the total appropriation to $150,000.
