ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the approval of bid and work contract to P.F. Moon and Company, Inc. for the construction of the Flint River Pump Station in the amount of $6.5 million for the Water and Wastewater Department of the Public Works and Utilities Department. Director of Public Works and Utilities Brant D. Keller will address.


SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

P.F. Moon was lowest and best bid for the replacement of the Flint River Pump Station. This project replaces the 1929 pump station, and it removes the pump station and its power supply out of the 100 year floodplain. The project is funded with the balance of the Coweta settlement and a Drinking Water SRF loan from GEFA. The project was rated first on Georgia List for project funding and Griffin receives a $500,000.00 loan forgiveness on the project.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Budgeted in FY2015-2016. The project's budget from the GEFA Loan is $5,779,870.00 and local funds add $1,700,000.00, totaling $7,479,870.00. The amount awarded for this project is $6,500,000.00.
