AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY

ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the approval of a Task Order for the Tracer Studies and Mixing Evaluations of Harry Simmons WTP and Still Branch WTP to Burns-McDonnell in the amount of $36,500.00 for the Water and Wastewater Department of the Public Works and Utilities Department. Director of Public Works and Utilities Brant D. Keller will address.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

These studies are the results of the GA EPD Sanitary Survey evaluations required for the water treatment plants to determine the T10 value of the treatment process as well as the G-value (velocity gradient). In layman's terms we have to compare the engineering design of the plant process to what actually happens in real life. T10 relates to chlorine contact time and G-value relates to reviewing the flocculation process in the baffles.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
