Spalding County Commissioner Flowers-Taylor requests to address the Commission regarding the extension of hours of local Parks and Recreation venues for the months of June and July 2015.  Spalding County Commissioner Gwen Flowers-Taylor will address.

Commissioner Flowers-Taylor would like the City to participate financially in the costs to extend the hours at three recreation centers in Spalding County - AMBUCS, Fairmont and City Park. In accordance with the current Service Delivery Strategy, Spalding County is responsible for providing active parks and recreation facilities and programs and City financial support of these programs would conflict with that agreement. Although staff supports this positive move to provide safe and active locations for participants, the financing of this initiative should remain a county function.
