ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the purchase of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for the High Service Pump #2 at Still Branch Water Treatment Plant from McNaughton-McKay in the amount of $178,894.45 for the Water and Wastewater Department of the Public Works and Utilities Department and amend the budget accordingly. Director of Public Works and Utilities Department Brant D. Keller will address.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

This is lowest and best qualifying bid. the VFD will replace the existing High Service Pump. The pump is one of two pumps which pump finished water from Molena to Griffin.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The resolution and budget amendment appropriate $178,894.45 from Fund Balance within the Water/Wastewater Utility Fund. See attached budget amendment for the transfer of funds to make the purchase.
