ITEM SUMMARY:

Consider the purchase of a Water Meter Test Bench Unit from Ferguson Waterworks in the amount of $33,582.93 and amending the FY 2014-2105 budget accordingly, for the Water and Wastewater Department of the Public Works and Utilities Department. Director of Public Works and Utilities Brant D. Keller will address.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS OR CONCERNS:

Item is a sole source bid. The Meter Test Bench is used in the testing of residential water meters for accuracy in their readings. To improve the score on the state water audit and condition of withdrawal permits, the unit will demonstrate perceptible progress in the capturing of water distributed to the system.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The amount of purchase is $33,582.93. The budget amendment is attached for securing the funds by transferring the amount from operating supplies in the water distribution division. The purchase is considered a capital purchase as describe in GASB34.
