AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY

Consider on second reading an Ordinance amending the Code of Griffin, Chapter 90, Traffic and Vehicles, Article III, Speed Zones to update the speed zone schedule.  Chief Steven Heaton will address.

These recommended speed limits have been incorporated into the City Code for adoption and pertain to all City of Griffin streets and highways, as proposed by the Georgia Department of Transportation,  to permit the Police Department to utilize detection devices in traffic enforcement. Changes since the previous listing to be noted are highlighted on the second attachment to emphasize changes since the last update in 2011. 

Recommend approval of Ordinance amendment for updated speed zone schedule. No changes have been implemented since first reading on 5-12-15.
